ASME and ASTM grades

SME and ASTM grades are directly comparable and are often written A/SA 516 or SA/A 516
which is the same as A516 or SA516. ASTM (which is derived from the American Society
for Testing and Materials) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) work
closely together and many of their standards are harmonised. For A 516 grade 60, which is one of most popular steels
For EN 10028 P indicates that it is a pressure grade steel. The number is the yield
strength when the plate is less than 16mm thick.
N indicates room temperature quality,
NH steels are for elevated temperature,
NL1 steels are of low temperature quality and NL2 steel – special low temperature
quality.
GH steels are for elevated temperature working.

The material a537cl1 ASTM A537CL2 and ASME SA537CL2 ARE normalised steel which is heat
treated and as a consequence displays greater yield and tensile strength than the more
standard ASTM A516 grades. The steel is ideal for use in pressurised service both in
boilers and pressure vessels and YUSHENG supplies A537 Class 1 plates to the world's
leading fabricators who in turn serve the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industry. They are
widely applied to petroleume, chemistry, power station and boiler industries, and also
can make reactor, heat exchanger, separator, spherical tank, the tank of oil gas,

Notes: We can supply ASTM A537 Class 1 plates from stock or directly from the mill. We
also offer an in house profiling service where the material can be cut to the size or
shape you require.
